What does it cost to advertise my car?

There are 5 packages to choose from.
All advertising packages have been made very simple and cost effective.
All you have to do is choose a package suitable for you.

If you use the SMS package it is free to advertise and you only pay for each contact you receive.
No, you will not receive 200 text messages. Buymycar is a ethical business.
There are no other costs to advertise your car on buy my car by SMS, this is a free service.

Why do I have to send CAR to 80818?

When you send a confirmation text (CAR to 80818) you are confirming we have the correct mobile phone number to send your prospective buyers contact details to.

Does sending prospective contact details to my phone cost money?

Yes there is a premium rate cost of £1 per contact if you have chosen to receive prospective contact details by SMS.

Do I have to receive Premium rate SMS contact details?

No, you can select email notifications when you advertise your car on buy my car.

Will email notifications cost anything?

Yes. There will be a one off fee if you choose to select email notifications and you will not receive any SMS messages.

Can prospective car buyers still contact me after I have sold my car?

Only if you have not sent stop to 80818 or removed your car within your account.

How do I stop people contacting me when I have sold my car?

If you have sold your car simply send stop to 80818 and your car will be suspended or you remove your car from your account by logging in.

When do you send premium rate SMS to my mobile phone?

You will only ever be sent a premium rate SMS when a CAR registered prospective buyer contacts you. If you ever feel that a contact message has been sent by a registered CAR user and they were not genuinely interested in buying your car please call us on 0845 388 4635 so we can investigate the matter.

Can I limit the amount of contacts I receive?

Yes. When you add your car to the website you can limit the amount of SMS messages you initially would like to receive. If you haven't sold your car after receiving the limit you can increase request more.
